Catholic Colleges and Universities
This is an informal list of Catholic Colleges and Universities with a reputation for being faithful to the Catholic Church and having an atmosphere which helps foster authentic spiritual development in their students. I created this list for my own daughter whol will be looking at colleges over the next few years and thought I could easily make it availible to everyone. This list is not exhaustive, but is a great place to start for any high school student looking for a solid Catholic institution to attend. If you kow others that should make the list, please contact me.
My Alma Mater. "Franciscan" as students now refer to it, or "Steubenville" as us old timers refer to it, is a "Dynamically Catholic" university which is not only faithful to the Chruch but promotes forming every area of a students life in teh Catholic Faith. The campus atmosphere saturates students in Catholicism.
Ave Maria University
"Ave Maria University is a Catholic, liberal arts institution of higher learning devoted to Mary the Mother of God, inspired by St. John Paul II and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, and dedicated to the formation of joyful, intentional disciples of Jesus Christ through Word and Sacrament, scholarship and service."
St. Thomas Aquinas College
St. Thomas Aquinas is a unique institution, not only because of it's fidelity to the Church, but because it boasts one program. "In lieu of textbooks and lectures, this college’s students would study only original works — the great books of Western civilization — and examine, sometimes refute, and invariably learn from their claims in small classes that employ Socratic discussions."
John Paul the Great University
"John Paul the Great Catholic University is a visionary teaching institution focused on and dedicated to molding students into future innovators and creators, leaders and entrepreneurs. Students have the opportunity to acquire a deep and personal knowledge of Jesus Christ." Degree programs in Scripture, Communications Media, Business, and Communications in Media are offered.

Holy Apostles College and Seminary
Holy Apostles makes my list because of their distance MA in Theology programs, offering 5 different concentrations. I did my MA in Moral Theology through Holy Apostles and it was a very good experience.
Its mission as a Catholic, Benedictine, liberal arts, residential college is the education of men and women within a community of faith and scholarship.
University of Mary
Known for academic excellence, the University of Mary offers students in North Dakota and around the globe an affordable, private, Catholic college education that prepares graduates to be leaders in the service of Truth.
Wyoming Catholic College
Wyoming Catholic College is a four-year coeducational Catholic college whose primary educational objective is to offer a traditional liberal arts education that schools the whole person in all three dimensions—mind, body, and spirit. Unique to this school are it's outdoor program that every student takes part in and its Great Books program.
Texas A& M
Wait. A&M isn't a Catholic school. No, iut's not. But it has an incredible campus ministry. It is often referred to as "the Steubenville of the South." If you are thinking about A&M, check out the Aggie Catholic web page too.
